Transamerica International Prime Hotel São Paulo

Over this past holiday weekend (November 15-17), Luiz finally got to enjoy his first 3 day weekend without work since May. In honor of this, and hitting the milestone of 2.5 years in our relationship, we headed to São Paulo to enjoy the city and get away for the weekend.

We stayed in the Transamerica Prime International Plaza Hotel located one block from the prominent Avenida Paulista of São Paulo's busy business and shopping region. The Transamerica prime has 30 floors featuring 243 "apartments", an outdoor pool, sauna, fitness area, and full-service restaurant. All staff is proficient in English and whether you want to order a pizza, order a cab, or take advantage of one of their sponsored tours for guests, the stay is willing to help with whatever you may need.

The "apartments" at the Transamerica Prime are actually like a small studio apartment with each containing a small kitchenette (minus the stove) complete with utensils and plates, a sitting/eating area, and a full sized desk that are separate from the sleeping area. Included in the nightly rate is a free buffet breakfast that has a wide variety of breads and cakes (the Brazilian breakfast staples) along with yogurts, scrambled eggs, fresh fruit, coffee, and juices. Also included, is a personalized (and free) wi-fi password for each device that you will be using during your stay.

One of the main highlights of this hotel, situated on the 30th floor, is the bar that has views of the city's skyline, live piano music at night, and an outdoor patio area. Filled with comfortable couches, armchairs, bar stools, and dining tables, there are many different options as far as view and comfort to choose from. The View bar menu offers both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages and a variety of appetizers, sandwiches, and light meals.
